Science or Religion?

Hope everyone is familiar with Ashtami, Navami, Raghu Kaalam, auspicious timings, etc. Most of them consider these religious. So atheists hardly believe in those things. But I feel, there is more attached to these timings than the religious tag.
Actually, the religious beliefs on these auspicious & inauspicious timings were based on the planetary positions and motions. In olden days, it was difficult to spread these scientific explanations to everybody. So a religious face was given as people tend to follow things properly when it was given under religious title. But nowadays, even non-atheists r ignoring these inauspicious timings. They think that what they did in an inauspicious timing also turns out to b good, so its all nonsense. Its just like saying I walked with my eyes closed, but didn't get hurt. But the person can't walk always with his/her eyes closed. Its like this - if u go with u'r eyes closed, u may trip over or fall on something but it is not necessary that u SHOULD fall.
Expecting to hear from believers and non-believers...

for the record: I dont believe in the supernatural.
based on planetary motions? true.
Does it have an effect on things?
Yes! But only if u believe it.For the lack of a better term i will call it a placebo.
Its all in our heads. Just like everything else. If u need to best understand what i mean by "in our heads"...just watch Matrix-everything we think are merely electrical signals...

nothing is absolute... everything is relative..

this may have already been told or u may have thought about it yourself...but its original(?!) to me.

Hey Iris, If you watch Matrix closely morpheus urges Neo to believe in fate, before he explains everything is an Illusion.

Yes its true everything is based on universal principles. According to astrology, ancient indians have found various divisions of time. They have classified it from the smallest amount of time (ie., the time taken for an elctron to go around a hydrogen nuclei, believe me this is written in a book written atleast 5000 years ago) to the biggest time scale (the span of time from the creation till extinction of this universe).

Time is governed by various deities and these deities have different qualities (for eg Guru is responsible for knowledge and venus for material enjoyments). So education will be favourable if we start it in time when Guru is favourable and so on and so on ...

does it make any sense ?
