Back from vacation

Took a small vacation from blogworld.
During my vacation, read two more books of Sandilyan - Vilairaani and Yavanaraani.

Vilairaani is about Veeragupta(Padai thalaivan of Chandragupta Maurya), Chandragupta Maurya, Chanakya, Saara(Chandragupta's love interest), Prabavathi Devi (Veeragupta's love interest). A group of robbers is all that Chandragupta has for an army. But how Chanakya's brain establishes the empire is a must-read. The responsibility given to Vilairaani(Prabhavathi Devi) and how much faith they have in her talent in her sword is great.

YavanaRaani - this is about Ilanchezhian(Karikaal cholan's padai thalaivan), Karikaal cholan, Alli(Karikaal cholan's love interest and a good spy), Poovazhagi(Ilanchezhian's love interest), Yavanaraani(the European princess), Tiberias(the European Padai thalapathy). This is about the way Europeans intruded India and how Cholas managed it,how Karikaal cholan got his name. This is a wonderful book to read abt our people's arrangements to handle floods, their warfare, their chariot race, and so on.
